HDI Japan was my first international invitation to be a keynote speaker. After the long trip to Japan, I was warmly welcomed by the staff at the airport and swept away to a beautiful hotel in a remote neighborhood near Japan. We spent a few days visiting the local village before making the trip to the conference venue.
My keynote session was titled Everything I Ever Learned About Management I Learned from the Movies. My son (who speaks Japanese) introduced me to the audience. It was an unforgettable moment.
In addition to the keynote session, I also participated in a roundtable discussion with Japanese executives to discuss Executive Support Issues.
After my session at the conference, we wandered outside the venue and attended a baseball game. After the first day of the conference, we joined the HDI Japan members at the end of day festivities.
Our host made the time in Japan enjoyable and memorable. We hope to return to Japan someday in the future.
